Happy New Year:)

I just want to wish my blog followers and friends a very, very, Happy New Year, and hopefully a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2009. Given the economy at the moment, I think that we will all find the last one a challenge.

For myself, I have a ton of resolutions for 2009. Nothing that would interest anyone else except for my immediate family..but I intend to make a LOT of changes in the coming year.

I hope to have my disability claim reinstated, and truly, much of what else I do with the year hinges upon that happening. I have decided that I am going to take a stand with the way the rest of my life is going to be run, and this battle with MS has really opened my eyes to a lot of things. I don't know if I will be in a wheelchair next year, or ten years from now, but I'll be ready for it. My crafts, new and old, penny rugs, rug hooking, stitcheries, and some altered art are some of the things I have grown to love. I find a lot of peace when I sit and stitch; and I cannot stitch if I am upset or tense. I hope to start an online business at some point, as well as selling a few things at some juried craft shows in the fall. I am going to start to enjoy my life more, and will NOT be treated like a second class citizen any longer. I am asking...no, demanding to be treated with respect, the same respect that I would treat anyone. I think that once I get rolling, my life will be much calmer and healthier for me. I cannot stand to around negative people any longer, and the tension and stress in my life will be gone.

Of course, I am really eager to meet my first grandchild who is due to be born Feb. 7th, 2009. He is still un-named, but I'm sure that they will choose something before he starts JK:)

Anyhow, that's my resolution, sorry if it sounds gloomy, or bitchy, but I have come to the realization, that I am the key to having a happy, content life, and unless I make some changes, nothing will change.

Huge woolly hugs to all of you; you are all very dear to me, and I don't/can't imagine life without you all in it.

Happy New Years,

  4. Happy New Year wishes to you, Trudy. I've been sick for the past 3 days with what could be either the flu or a bad cold/bronchitis so I've been in bed, moaning.

I like the stand you're taking with the world. Yes, you are entitled to that respect and nothing less simply because you're ill. You GO, girl, and thank you for being my cyber buddy during the past year.

It can be very powerful when you decide to make changes in your life and you are totally in control of those changes and where they take you. You should always disassociate yourself from people who don't treat you with respect, although it isn't always easy. I love the idea of your starting a business. You are intelligent and creative and I believe it would be successful. Follow your heart!!! Hopefully God's blessings will shower you with even better treasures this new year and keep away the sad moments! Warm, wooly hugs back to you too!

Sounds like a lot of positiveness to me-not butchy. I always say I don't have enough time to spend with the people I really want to spend time with so why would I spend it with people who pull me down. Life speeds by at an amazing pace and I don't want to look back and "wish I had". Kudos to you for your resolution. It's funny my resolution for this year also has to do with relationships. Putting them first and enjoying family and friends. Have a great year.
