Stitchery Fever and some Giveaways

We finally got Brani's Petes gameworn jersey last week. Makes us miss him even more than we already are. We really would love to have Brani here from Slovakia and Adam here from Czech at the same time, except that I would be at the grocery store every day, cause man oh man those hockey players can eat!! The funny thing is Brani wore #24 the two years he played for the Petes, and now Adam is wearing #24...and they both lived with us.

My daughter Jess and I came up with a great idea for some gifts for Christmas. I can't go into a great deal of detail in case the 'receiver' is reading, but we went to Pyzam again, and are going to make something that we designed from their website. So, with that in mind, I wanted to find some stitching tutorials for Jess (and me) and I am too lazy to look in any one of my thousand craft/garden/decorating/recipe books. Its more fun to read through blogs and find them the slow way.

I found a great stitchery tutorial with pictures even at Leslie's blog over at My County Home. If you are attempting your first project, Leslie has it explained beautifully!

To learn how to print your pattern on the computer directly onto fabric go to printing on fabric at Instructibles. If you have never been to this site, you will be awed by how much information on a vast number of crafts, cooking, woodworking, anything at all really is posted there. I like how they have the comments from other readers on each tutorial too, you can learn alot just by reading the comments.

Homeberries has a ton of free patterns to get you started. You can also look at Primitive Blessings Twigs and Sprigs.

Needle n Thread is a good spot to get tutorials on various stitches, and they also have video tutorials!! Here is a great tutorial for the star ornament shown below. It comes from The Craft Gossip Blog Network. I love their site.

Now, a couple of giveaways for you all to enter. Remember that you don't have to be a blogger to enter for these giveaways, and you don't even have to be crafty, you just have to like what the blogger is giving away. Of course I LOVE everything that I post about, or I wouldn't go to the trouble of linking it up and blogging about it.

Isn't this the cutest snowman ever? You could go over to Angie's blog, Simple Thyme Primitives to enter this giveaway...but I'm going to win, so just go over to her blog and look at the amazing stuff she makes:)

Here is another giveaway that I am planning on winning over at The Sugarplum Patch. She is having this giveaway to celebrate Char's daughters 21st bday! It's a toaster cover, and it would look perfect covering my toaster.

Wow, Kim over at Simple Needs is having a giveaway too for her 100th post, this giveaway is chock full of yummy stuff!

Primarily Primitives is having her first giveaway of two very lovely altered art hang tags. She is so talented, you should wander over to see her work.

A Busy Mommy is also having a giveaway for three of the cutest snowman ornies.

OK, thats enough from me for today, got to save some stuff for the weekend:) Happy Halloween to you all:)
Wooly hugs,
Trudy
