Hi Blog lovers,
First, I want to thank all of YOU for your comments for my posts. I am not always the greatest one to answer them, but I do read them ALL, and they brighten my day and touch my heart!
I am so excited today! Autumn, my fav time of the year is fast approaching, my Jess is home safe and sound, and the tomatoes are finally starting to get red in my garden. All of these good things have made me decide to share the happiness, so to speak:)
There has been so much growing interest in how to make 'penny rugs' that I decided to make up a kit, with a clear pic, and instructions for a giveaway! Picture of finished penny rug for a table is shown below. Yours will be unfinished. I will include everything, pre-cut hand dyed vintage wool, the cotton thread for the blanket stitching, needle, backing, and instructions.
This little design is fairly quick to work up, and I would just love to see one of my blog lovers making this. If you have never attempted applique before, this is a great starter project. If you are experienced but love primitive, it is a quick project. So, if you leave a comment under THIS POST ONLY, I will enter your name into the giveaway. I don't care where you live, it really is fairly light, so I will ship anywhere. If you put a link to this giveaway on your blog I will enter your name twice!
We are away at a cottage next week, and won't have access to the Internet, so I want to come home to a TON of entries!
The closing date for this little giveaway is going to be on Labor Day (or Labour Day if you are a Canuck like me) which is September 1st. I will place all of your names in a bowl, and my name generator will be hubby Jeff! So, get your name in before 6:00pm on September 1st for a chance to win this penny rug kit. Remember, if you post a link on your blog, I will put your name in twice! If you don't have a blog, just make sure that I have your email address so that I can get in touch with you. It is such a wonderful, lazy way for me to find all of those yummy blogs out there, that I couldn't resist. I will post the winner's name on a new post on September 2nd.
With giveaways in mind I want to tell you about a couple that I have come across.
Sandy at Soft in the head has a great giveaway for one of her handcrafted treasures, that anyone can enter.
Ginger over at Primitives by the Light of the Moon also has an amazing Autumn themed giveaway.
