Surfing on the internet again and a long weekend ahead.

I keep finding great places to visit, and I can't help but show you a few of them.



One of the ladies whose work I just love (Jean from Blue Jean Primitives) belongs to a group called The Eclectic Artisans. You must go and have a look at their work before the Webshow closes. They all do such beautiful work in the primitive style, and I just drool looking at it:)



If you live in Ontario, or want to travel to Ontario to look at our phenominal autumn leaves, then this is a great link for you. Fall Colours are updated on this site on a regular basis, telling you where the 'best' leaf colour is daily. I have a bit of a fetish for catalogs, and just ordered a bunch of touristy ones for us:) They are free! They came in the mail just two days after I ordered them online; too bad our regular mail couldn't get here that quickly.

I just love this site. It's called Pyzam, and you can make stickers, pics, and play around with different fonts. You can create your own stick family. Wouldn't that be great to transfer to a backing, and stitched up for a loved one for Christmas?

You must bookmark American Primitive How-To's blog. She has the most wonderful tutorials on there, with a ton of links to other great sites.



Here is a great free tutorial by Sue Daley to make this cute thread catcher shown in the photo above. I think that it would be great for holding wool snippets, or make one bigger to hold dinner rolls:)

Cozy Coops Corner makes the most beautiful sticheries, and has lots of pics of hers and others prim decorating. Very inspiring blog.

My daughter Jess wanted to make a penny rug with an autumn theme for her BF Curtis's grandmother's 80th birthday. She isn't a stitcher, but she did pick out the pattern, material from my stash, and cut everything out! I stitched it up for her, and got a pretty rusty/orange candle and holder for the centre. She loved it, and so did Jess, so everyone was happy.

I want to wish my brother Terry and his wife Nancy a Happy 28th anniversary! I love them and their grown up kiddies so very much, and wish them every bit of happiness out of life that they can grab!





Last night we went to watch Adam play hockey with the Peterborough Petes. They haven't won very many games this year, actually they have only won two. Adam plays defence, and hasn't scored a goal yet, although he has had an assist which isn't bad at all. He was anxious to 'get that monkey off his back' and score a goal. Yayyyy! He did it! He scored a sweet goal which tied the Petes with the Erie Otters. They ended up winning 4-2. The team needed a win so badly, as they are a very young team this year, and a win gives them a huge boost! They go on to play tonight and then on Monday afternoon.

This weekend is our Canadian Thanksgiving, and it will be spent doing 'family' things with a little bit of hockey thrown in. Saturday we are going to visit Hubby's cousin Nancy and her husband Bill and some other family members,out on Stoney Lake on a most beautiful resort. We will spend time with Jeff's family, then break bread together. Bill and Nancy are the couple that we stopped in to see when we were in Charlottetown PEI; they happened to be near us at the same time. We are just getting to know them a bit over the past year, and they are so very, very nice. Every time we come away from a little visit I always say to Jeff that 'we should see more of them, cause they are very interesting people'. But they do live a few hours away from us, and have busy lives, as we all do, so we just have to make the most of it!

Sunday is the day that we celebrate our Thanksgiving, even though the holiday is on Monday. We use Monday as a day to lie around with our belts undone whilst we recover from all the overeating and pure pigishness of Sunday. We ALWAYS go to Norwood for Thanksgiving...always! Jeff's Mom and Dad always host dinner, and we all contribute, or some years we have made the whole dinner and have just transported it to their home, but we eat there. Some years the tables are just lined up end to end from the dining room right through their living room. We always celebrate Bert's birthday that weekend as well. HAPPY 77TH BIRTHDAY BERT! Norwood has a fall fair every Thanksgiving weekend, and we ALWAYS go to it on the Sunday, before the turkey feast. It's an old fashioned fair that has a ton of animals, crafts, food, judging for darn near anything that you can grow, make, eat or look at. There are rides, and the midway, taffy pulling, candy apples, and those funnel cakes. They always have the best fries and gravy too! Are you figuring out why we lie around on Monday now:)

This year we will be taking daughter Jess, me and Jeff, Jake without his pregnant wife Kerri (someone has to work in emerg...poor Kerri) Adam and my brother Tony.

I will post pics, this is Adam's first fall fair, and he says that they have nothing like it in Czech Republic. We will send pictures to his family so that they can see what their little boy gets up to when he isn't playing hockey:) The weather here is supposed to be amazing all weekend! I'll try and save you all some taffy and a candy apple:)
